App Attack!

“An iPod, a phone, an internet mobile communicator… these are NOT three separate devices!”

~ Steve Jobs

Smart Phone

How secure is your mobile phone?

When was the last time you downloaded an app? Few minutes to kill waiting for a bus, or yet more delays on the rail network, so you browse the app store, see if there’s anything takes your fancy. How do you know if that app is safe to download?

According to Symantec, up to 5 million malicious apps have been downloaded this year alone! Scary reading if you’ve no security on your mobile phone.

Most people now understand the importance of having some form of anti-virus protection installed on their computers  -  of course you don’t have to, but we regularly see the devastating end results when people don’t.

Why do you need an anti-virus? To protect you when you go online, access websites, and download information.

What do you use your phone for?

In addition, as with password protection on your computer, have you set up the “lock” screen on your phone? Imagine if you left it in the pub – could anyone just pick it up and look at everything on your phone? Emails? Client contact details? Your Facebook account?

Installing extra security on your mobile phone should be as important to you as securing any other computer.

If you feel you need to know a little more about this, then please feel free to get in touch.

In the meantime we wish you, as always, continued happy and safe computing.
