Help! I’ve lost my all my data!
We’ve all lost something at some point in our lives, and this includes data you have (had? ) on your computer, laptop, or phone. It can be accidental or deliberate, but it remains frustrating at best, and devastating at worse.
What Causes Data Loss?
Data loss can be caused by any of the following:
Software or hard drive failure.
Accidental deletion of files.
Corrupt data.
Hacking and malware attacks.
Power failure.
Physical accidents such as floods, fire, power surges.
Data can be lost from anywhere you might have stored your files, whether it’s a physical hard drive (either within or externally to your computer), or a USB stick, or from a virtual place such as a shared network drive or a cloud-based storage system.
Can Data Recovery Help?
Data recovery is the term for the process that salvages and restores any data that has been lost. There are several routes a data recovery specialist can take to try and get this data back for you, and this will vary depending on factors including the way in which the data was lost and the physical state of any device the data needs to be retrieved from.
Do I Have To Go To A Specialist?
No, you don’t. However, doing anything to your computer if you’re not a data recovery expert can result in your files being lost forever. This isn’t scaremongering; we have had instances where people have followed advice they found online and have caused further damage to their systems rendering any data recovery impossible.
Who Can Help Then?
Dolphin have been helping their clients with data recovery for several decades and are proud to have a high success rate. Of course, the ideal situation would be if you have your data backed up and stored in a variety of places; this would ensure that if you lost data from one place, you would still have a copy somewhere else. But if you don’t, if you only have your photos on your laptop, or your financial information on your desktop, or your project files on a USB drive and you lose it all, then email us, support@dolphinupgrades.com and we’ll do our best to get it all back for you.
